Sudbury Symphony Orchestra is having its next workshop on Sunday 19 October in Sudbury Arts Centre when we are tackling Shostakovich's 5th Symphony - for the second time as we liked it so much back in October 2016! An epic piece so we have booked ourselves a larger venue to match the huge sounds we will be making.
This symphony is not played so often by amateur orchestraa as needs a big orchestra, a big venue and it is quite tricky in places so a workshop is a great opportunity to experience the piece.
Doors open at 9:30 am for a 10 am start and we will finish by about quarter to 5 at the latest. The venue will provide teas, coffees and juice but do either bring your own lunch or use the many pubs and cafes in Sudbury open on a Sunday.
Interested? Get in touch with Hilary here. We love new strings to join us for the day. To get the best out of the day we suggest you need to be a competent orchestral music sight reader - but don't think you need to play every note - but it always helps to know where you are on the page!
