Our autumn 2025 concert was in a packed St Gregory's Church, Sudbury on Sunday 30th November. The church was surprisingly warm and the audience had a treat. We played Bruckner's Three Pieces for Orchestra which are charming and have some beautiful horn and wind solos. We then moved on to Haydn's Trumpet Concerto with Cameron Johnson as our soloist - his proud father brought 45 clients from JM Finn's Bury St Edmunds office to support him and they really appreciated Cameron's effortless and beautiful playing. In the second half we played Beethoven's Second Symphony which is a lovely lovely symphony, overlooked as it is not as grand as his later ones but so full of energy and charming fragements of tunes. This was a lovely programme which really suited the more intimate setting of St Gregory's Church.
Our trumpet soloist, Cameron Johnson, last played with us almost exactly 10 years ago and it was lovely to meet him again. Here he is playing along with us while we were concentrating very hard!
