Isabella is a seventeen-year-old violinist from Essex, studying A-Levels at New Hall School. She began learning the violin at the age of seven and now studies under the tutelage of Dominic Moore. Isabella is Leader of the Essex Youth Orchestra, with whom she has led tours of Germany and Austria, and she has also led Titan Sinfonia and the New Hall School Symphony Orchestra.
Alongside her violin studies, Isabella is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist. She studies piano with Christopher Weston and organ with Jonathan Turner as Organ Scholar of New Hall School, and holds an organ scholarship at St Thomas’ of Canterbury Church, Brentwood, Essex, where she performs regularly as both a solo organist and accompanist.
In addition to her performance work, Isabella is a mezzo-soprano with a strong interest in composition. She has received commissions from the Waltham Singers, St Thomas’ of Canterbury Choir, and the Essex String Octet, and was recently selected as a composer for the St Catherine’s College, Cambridge Composing Workshop. Isabella is also developing her skills in choral conducting and aspires to direct a top choir in the future. Last year, she reached the final of the prestigious Pro Corda National Chamber Music Competition as a member of the New Hall Piano Quartet.
Isabella is hoping to read music at university, and is delighted to be performing with the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra!
