Cameron last played with us in 2015 and since then he has enjoyed a varied freelance career both in London and internationally. He has worked with many of the UK’s leading orchestras including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Recently he toured China with the National Symphony Orchestra, as well as concerts in Kuwait and on board the Queen Mary 2. He also works in the commercial world playing for functions in London and across Europe each year. Recent highlights have included Sting’s Christmas party, the wedding of the Duke of Somerset and a sold out tour of the Netherlands. Outside of playing he teaches at King’s College London and North London Collegiate School, as well as tutoring on the Kitzbuhel Music Festival.
As a fifth generation trumpeter, Cameron began playing the cornet in his local Salvation Army brass band aged 6, under the tutelage of his grandfather, Ray Todd. A music scholar of Norwich School, Cameron left in 2012 to pursue his music studies at King’s College London. During this period he gained the Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music and received scholarships to attend the Royal Academy of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Royal College of Music for post-graduate study, taking up his place at the Academy in September 2015.
He is delighted to be returning as soloist with the Sudbury Symphony orchestra!
