Our next concert at the end of March will be in Sudbury Arts Centre and we are planning a film music themed programme with young rising stars as our soloists. We are thinking - Viktors Tale wonderful clarinet solo from Terminal, the violin solo from Morricone's Cinema Paradiso and the violin solo from Schindlers List PLUS Gershwin's Promenade Walking the Dog from the 1937 film Shall We Dance.
And to round off the evening we just thought we would slip in a work you might not know, Lars Erik Larsson's Third Symphony - while this work is not film related Larsson wrote a fair amount of film music so we think it qualifies for the concert on those grounds. And it qualifies anyway as it is a really interesting work - check it out here. We played the symphony in a workshop and we definitely gave it the thumbs up and we hope you do too.
More details to follow.
